Meet the Directors

Co-Directors Bob Wiesmann and Bill Arenz are former teammates on the University of Portland ski team from 1946 to 1950, and bring over a half century of ski experience to Ski Bowl every weekend. They "approach skiing with a sparkle in their eyes" and continue to spread their enthusiasm for the sport with their seasoned team of kid focused instructors and coaches through all their Mogul Busters programs.

Congratulations to Bill Arenz, winner of the prestigious PSIA-NW Jean Lyons Service to Youth Award in 2000 and to Bob Wiesmann for receiving his PSIA 50 yr. Certification Award.

Team Mogul Buster

Team Mogul Buster is made up of instructors, staff members and volunteers who dedicate their winter weekends to teaching children to ski and snowboard. With over 60 instructors on staff, all are specially selected and trained in meeting the needs of young children. All instructors are certified through the Professional Ski Instructors Association and/or the American Association of Snowboard Instructors and use the latest, most proven techniques for teaching skiing and snowboarding to children. Most importantly, they want your child's time on the snow to be fun, educational and safe. Instructors are equipped with 2-way radios to enhance the safety and comfort of your children.

Mogul Busters is Mount Hood's oldest independent ski school, providing quality ski instruction since 1958. Designed specifically for children ages 4 to 13, the program has taught more than 10,000 children to ski, and more recently snowboard, and will continue to provide quality ski and snowboard instruction well into the 21st century.
