Who we are

Mogul Busters is a locally owned small business. We have been operating at Mt. Hood Skibowl since the 1950's and hope to continue for generations to come. We serve families with children ages 4 through 13 on the weekends. Our classes are small and usually range between 5 and 10 children with two instructors. We also offer adult classes for those parents that would like to learn a snow sport with their children or brush up on a few things!

We operate seasonally beginning in January and ending the last weekend in March (conditions permitting).

Generations of Instruction

Many of our current instructors were former students or are parents of our current students. We are a community of like-minded, recreational skiers and snowboarders with a passion for responsible enjoyment of the sport. All of our instructors are certified through the Professional Ski Instructors Association and/or the American Association of Snowboard Instructors. We have taught over 12,000 kids how to ski and snowboard, and many of our former students went on to race competitively or grow in back country exploration and trick performance.

Our Philosophy

We believe that skiing and snowboarding are family sports that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

Since skiing and snowboarding are a skill based sport, it takes several lessons, or a lifetime, to perfect the skills to make it look effortless. We believe our group lessons offer students the opportunity to learn at their own pace for how they are participating for that day. We keep track of their progress to ensure their next lesson they can keep building skills.

We're here to making skiing fun.

Mogul Busters is about building confidence, enjoying the mountain and staying safe. We are not a competitive race academy or a daycare center. We teach children to ski and snowboard with honesty and empathy. After all, many of us remember when we were just starting at Mogul Busters too!
