This information is for those people who have expressed interest in working with Mogul Busters to become a ski instructor for children. First of all, you’re awesome!

To get yourself oriented and introduced to the practice of Ski and Snowboard Instruction, you should go first to the Website of our organization:

PSIA/AASI:  www.thesnowpros.org

Professional Ski Instructors of America  -  American Association of Snowboard Instructors

We are in the Northwest Division, and our division also has a website of its own

www.psia-nw.org

We encourage you to enroll in the introductory, online courses for new instructors. On the front page, there is a tab for Education, and under that you’ll see a choice for E-Learning. Choose that.

There are three important eCourses for you to take:

Course for New Instructors

Delivering the Beginner Experience – Alpine (there is one for snowboarding, too)

Introduction to Working with Children

You should be able to take these classes without paying any fees. Fees will come later when you are ready to join the organization and work on Certification.

There are other eLearning Courses there that you will want to take at a later date and a large set of Manuals, Videos and other instructional materials. Keep this page in mind.

If you are not interested in becoming a full-fledged Instructor, we can still use assistants to do some of the other chores, so contact us if you want to know more about that.

Perks — A lift ticket for every day you ski (with us) or a discounted season pass for you and your family. Plus free lessons for your children without lift ticket. Also, we're pretty fun to hang out with. Most of our instructors have been with us for 30 years and less or have gone through the program.
Schedule– Flexible. You tell us when you can make it, and we schedule the students. (We have an 8 day commitment.).

Class Assistants

DSC_0554.jpg

Want to become an instructor but don't know where to start? We need volunteer class assistants, especially in the Foundation/"Red" classes of students. These classes can be pretty chaotic, with students that don't know how to stop or walk or even get up when they fall down. That extra hand and a smile makes all the difference between a great experience and a bad one.

Assisting counts towards the hours necessary to acquire Instructor Certification for the following year. All class assistants must complete a background check.
